    Job Description

    BAE Systems seeking an experienced and skilled **Manager of Operations** to oversee the day-to-day company business activities for our staff on our prime-led contract to the AEGIS Technical Representative (TECHREP) program.

     

    Our team is made up of BAE Systems and subcontractor personnel located in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, Pascagoula, MS, Bath, ME, and San Diego, CA who are engaged and oversee all processes and operations of the AWS OEM developer for the quality development, integration, and testing of the Aegis Weapon System computer program.

     

    The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our Team follows BAE System business operations for safety, security, infrastructure, and human resource requests. This is a leadership role requiring superior strategic organizational communication and interpersonal skills.

     

    The Manager of Operations responsibilities include: assisting and/or leading the planning, organizing, coordinating, managing, and evaluating the activities for a multiple personnel within structured divisional teams to achieve their goals for all performance objectives for safety, quality, efficiency, utilization, schedule attainment, productivity, employee relations, and total cost/budget responsibilities as measured by pre-determined key performance indicators (KPI). Additionally, the candidate will part of a BAE senior management team and be required to present daily status and solicit for actions and approvals from the Program Manager and/or designate, for any assessed business operations decisions. This includes actions across daily business operations, recommendations for improved efficiencies, and organizational resources for the execution of talent acquisition onboarding and termination processes across the resident staff.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Safety and Security

    + Develop and implement comprehensive safety and security protocols to ensure a compliance and safe working environment for resident staff and visitors

    + Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential safety and security threats and direct or delegate any necessary company standard operating procedures (SOPs) updates

    + Collaborate with company relevant stakeholders to develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures

    + Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and security regulations and standards

    IT and Infrastructure

    + Oversee the management of IT engagement with regard to the staff needs for the ebb and flow of obtaining network access, managing computer asset repairs , and the management of obtaining account submissions for exterior accounts all to ensure seamless operations and minimal downtime for all staff members

    + Develop and implement IT strategies and plans to support business objectives

    + Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the security and integrity of data and systems

    + Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers

    Human Resources

    + Partner with our HR business partner to implement HR strategies and plans to support business objectives

    + Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of employees

    + Manage employee relations, performance management, and benefits administration

    + Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations

    Operations Management

    + Coordinates with appropriate personnel regarding safety, quality assurance, master scheduling, facilities engineering, environmental management, labor/material/overhead/G&A costs, to optimize return on assets.

    + Develop and implement operational plans and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations

    + Engage with budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for operations with divisional task leads

    + Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives

    + Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to optimize operations

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    + A bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline and at least 8 years' experience working in a leadership role developing and delivering technology solutions in DOD and/or Commercial environments.

    + Experience leading technical and program teams through all phases of the lifecycle on large, complex programs with responsibility for all aspects of program objectives as well as business performance, including experience leading P&L and growth for a portfolio of programs.

    + Experience working closely with government, commercial, and international clients for requirements development and creating, bidding, and negotiating winning proposals.

    + Experience building and leading large, high-performing teams, including leadership of leaders; strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to achieve results through others and a focus on inclusive leadership.

    + Strong business acumen in managing financial performance and proven success identifying growth areas and developing new business strategic plans aligned with the company's growth objectives. Experience leading large and complex, competitive captures is a positive.

    + Demonstrated experience establishing and building customer relationships as well as the ability to collaborate within and across organizational boundaries.

    + Must be a skilled communicator with the ability to influence at executive levels internally and externally and shape the image of a complex organization. Ability to negotiate at a high level with internal and external customers and partners.

    + Possesses exemplary risk and opportunity management skills as well as thorough knowledge of program management best practices, government contracting, current acquisition trends and customer and competitor behaviors.

    + Must possess and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret / SCI.

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    + AEGIS Combat System Experience

    + 10 years with H.S. diploma, 8 years with AA, 6 years with BS, 4 years with MS, & 2 years with PhD.

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

    + Proficient in the MS Office suite

    + Ability to identify, define, interpret, and develop new and creative solutions to solve complex problems as solutions are often innovative.

    + Must be able to coordinate and lead others in accomplishing work activities.

    + Experience establishing performance standards for employees and contract personnel.

    + Ability to determine appropriate method and procedures.

    + Have good planning, time management and organizational skills.

    + Ability to prioritize work and multitask.

    + Communication skills to explain relevant concepts to personnel unacquainted with processes and requirements.

     

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
