    Oversees all Crematory operations and team members for multiple locations. The Supervisor is responsible for planning and directing the activities of the Crematory associates and resources to optimize client family satisfaction, resource utilization and cost containment within given limits.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Supervising Crematories

    + Ensures all policies and procedures are closely followed to ensure proper compliance in every area of the Crematories’ operations including, cremations, processing, paperwork, scheduling, refrigeration, PMI’s, Crematory maintenance, and other activities; maintain 100% compliance in all areas.

    + Assists Crematory staff and/or completes any preparation in its entirety.

    + Monitors the operations and proper functions of crematory equipment and machinery by regular inspection and advising the Crematory Manager when repairs or replacements are necessary.

    + Directs and oversees daily schedules and prioritization of work, achieving 100% met commitments to funeral homes, cemeteries, crematories and other external customers.

    + Proactively communicates and acts as a liaison between the Manager, staff and other location staff regarding issues, concerns and opportunities to improve process and efficiencies.

    + Recognizes and celebrates individual achievements and team successes.

    + Orders, inventories and manages supplies and other merchandise.

    + Using company vehicle, drive daily to multiple crematory locations to accomplish goals.

    + Acts as the Crematory Manager when the Manager is not present at the location.

    Training and Quality Control

    + Assists in training policies, procedures and standards for multiple roles.

    + Executes and participates in various training activities.

    + Ensures Crematory staff completes company compliance coursework.

    + Maintains a safe working environment by training the staff to ensure compliance with the operating procedures of corporate, federal, state and local regulations, including OSHA regulations and Safety and Environmental guidelines.

    + Ensures cases are managed in daily operations properly (location specific).

    MINIMUM** **Requirements

    Education

    + State specific required diploma or accreditations

    Certification/License

    + Holds and maintains any State specific licensing and/or certifications

    + Valid State Driver’s License in good standing

    Experience

    + Five (5) years of funeral home, crematory, care center and/or decedent care preparation

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Demonstrates a high level of skill, personal attributes and abilities required for recognition by both peers and management

    + Sets the standards for quality, teamwork, and productivity required for a high volume Crematory/Crematories.

    + Knowledge of computers and some software including MS Office products required

    + Ability to work individually and as a team

    + Ability to prioritize and organize effectively with a keen sense to detail

    + High level of compassion and integrity

    + Effective communication, training and problem solving skills

    + Strong written and oral communication

     

    Work CONDITIONS

    When considering the work hours associated with this job, the following factors may apply:

    Work Environment

    + Work is mostly indoors; outdoors when traveling to and from crematories

    + Limited amount of local and/or multiple location traveling required

    + When not required to wear protective gear and if not in contact with families, crematory operators casual attire. Professional Dress is required when in contact with families. Uniforms may be required in some locations.

    Work Postures

    + Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 8 hours per day

    + Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per day

    + Kneeling, reaching and bending to move and arrange materials

    + Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently

    Physical Demands

    + Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required

    + Carrying and/or lifting materials up to 100 pounds with assistance

    + Pushing or pulling up to 300 pounds on a wheeled table or stretcher

    + Working beyond “standard” hours as the need arises
