Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE
Under general direction and with significant latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative, serves as the Revenue Integrity Analyst for SMH, HH, and Affiliates.
SUPERVISION AND REPORTING:
+ Reports to the Manager of Revenue Integrity Analysis; works in concert with SMH Finance, hospital and faculty-based programs, on and offsite.
+ Receives Direction from the Manager of Revenue Integrity Analysis for priorities in project management, development of reports and analysis and the evaluation of systems/process
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under general direction and with considerable latitude for use of independent judgment, serves as an analyst agent for Revenue Integrity. Typical responsibilities include the following as well as related duties:
Finance/Analysis
+ Monitors compliance of revenue integrity initiatives on an ongoing basis. Identifies and reports on variances for items such as charge budgets, timeliness of charge entry, closing of open encounters, etc. for explanations and/or corrective actions.
+ Identifies variances in revenue by department and follows up with department administrators for explanations and/or corrective action across SMH, HH, MFG and affiliates.
+ The Revenue Integrity Analyst works collaboratively with leadership to assist in the development and implementation of process improvement to enhance charge accuracy and reimbursement
+ Develops and updates reports for revenue integrity for distribution to senior leadership and department administrators. Insures that reporting meets needs of senior leadership and department administrators.
+ This position also works closely with Information Systems Division (ISD) to complete and test charge related build by having a clear understanding of the charging workflows and triggers built within the Epic.
+ Continue to update reports weekly to help identify variance concerns proactively.
+ Assist in identifying gaps in EPIC reporting and mapping through interactions with department representatives, finance staff, revenue integrity facilitators and ISD personnel.
+ Through specialized reporting/analysis and utilizing several reporting applications identifies gaps in current processes and potential EPIC build issues.
+ Performs in depth analysis of revenue impact for hospital conversion programs to assist senior leadership with decision making.
+ Collaborates with Patient Financial Services on revenue cycle initiatives including but not limited to reducing charging delays/errors, establishing charges for new hospital programs and improving revenue collection.
+ Actively participate in and seeks out projects to help with the implementation of new workflows clinical and non-clinical
+ Through data collection and analysis directs changes to improve operational processes.
+ Present best practices to other areas based on historical findings and trending analysis where applicable.
+ Educates departments on procedures, tools, benchmarks, reports, etc. regarding revenue integrity and charge reconciliation.
+ Performs other duties as assigned by Operations and Finance Director for Hospital Revenue Cycle and Director Patient Accounts.
Pricing/Fee Schedule(s):
+ Provides assistance in the completion of the annual pricing review. This includes preparing the fee schedule files with price changes for import into Epic
+ Completes market and internal analysis in order to price out new charge code requests for the region based upon expansion of services provided
+ Assists with the annual hospital price increase analysis and management/updates of the CDM.
+ Continuously monitor and update pricing, work queues and thresholds within the epic system.
Institutional / Departmental
+ Represent Revenue Integrity at hospital and departmental meetings where requested or instructed.
+ Problem solve / follow-up on issues presented at governance meetings or other ad hoc meetings where in-depth data analysis is required.
+ Works with areas to facilitate achievement of work redesign as appropriate.
+ Participate in weekly Revenue Integrity meetings representing Revenue Integrity analytics, presents trending data to assist Revenue Integrity facilitators in identifying issues.
+ Act as the liaison between Finance and revenue generating departments to ensure accurate charging practices while simultaneously ensuring appropriate charging and reimbursement.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field, 2 years of related experienceRequired
+ Or an equivalent combination of education and experienceRequired
+ Master’s Degree or Masters in progress Preferred
+ Hospital or professional reimbursement, charge capture, fee schedules and charge master experience Preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
+ Knowledge of Excel Preferred
+ Working knowledge of CPT & HCPCS Preferred
+ Excellent knowledge of Excel and SQL queries Preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
+ Completion of EPIC Certification within 1 year
