    Summary of Responsibilities:

    Join a Great Place to Work! We’re looking for a Cyber Security Engineer focused on Splunk to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in enhancing ATC’s cyber defense capabilities by developing and implementing threat detection strategies, analyzing security data, and responding to potential threats—helping to protect a vital part of the nation’s critical infrastructure.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    In this role, you’ll contribute to our Cybersecurity team in the following areas:

    + Splunk Expertise: Deep knowledge of Splunk Enterprise features, such as data ingestion, indexing, and Linux/Unix administration.

    + Platform Management: Install, configure, and maintain the Splunk Enterprise platform (indexers, search heads, and forwarders).

    + Security Monitoring: Develop and optimize correlation rules, dashboards, and alerts to monitor for security threats and suspicious activities.

    + Log Onboarding: Integrate and onboard new log sources into the Splunk environment, ensuring data normalization and integrity.

    + Performance Optimization: Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and fine-tune configurations for optimal performance and automation with Splunk SOAR.

    + User Management: Manage user access and permissions within the Splunk platform.

    + Incident Support: Collaborate with SOC teams to provide technical support during security incident investigations.

    + SIEM Concepts: Understanding of security information and event management principles, including threat detection, correlation rules, and incident response.

    + Log Management: Experience in managing various log sources, data parsing, and ensuring data quality.

    + Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to system performance, data ingestion, and connector failures.

    + Documentation: Development and upkeep of clear, detailed documentation and notes to support team knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

     

    This position could be located out of our Pewaukee, Cottage Grove or De Pere, Wisconsin offices or our Kingsford, Michigan office. We offer flexible work schedules, though this role is not 100% remote and requires relocation to an area close to one of our Wisconsin or Upper Peninsula office locations.     The targeted base pay for this position is $93,600 to $109,200 annually.* Base pay is one component of our comprehensive total rewards package which includes an annual incentive bonus, employer-sponsored pension plan, 401(k) match, HSA contribution, life & disability insurance, health care benefits, generous time off plans, flexible work arrangements, and much more .

     

    *The pay range is a general guideline. Employment offers are evaluated individually and consider qualifications, experience, academic achievements, internal equity, and business needs.
