The role you'll contribute:
Reporting to the Practice Manager and under the supervision of the Providers, the Medical Assistant cares for patients and performs a wide variety of patient care activities. Adheres to state, federal and organizational guidelines to ensure quality care and patient safety with support from the Clinical Excellence team. Is essential in maintaining organization and facilitating patient flow. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

+ Drives customer service initiatives by creating and owning the patient experience.
+ Properly documents and reports all procedures and assessments in accordance with department policy.
+ Assesses patients during clinical check-in, documents pertinent medical information and vital signs, and checks for signs of abuse or neglect using age-specific guidelines.
+ Administers treatments, medications, and follow-up assessments ordered by the provider, verifying as needed, and responds appropriately in clinical emergencies and triage situations.
+ Performs diagnostic and occupational medicine testing, including EKG, spirometry, audiometry, titmus, and pulse oximetry, and completes forensic testing collections in accordance with DOT and State Drug Free Workplace Guidelines.
+ Completes check-out duties and relays instructions and care to the patient or family.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
+ High School Grad or Equiv
+ Technical/Vocational School
+ 1 year of work experience
+ 6 months relevant experience within an AdventHealth facility Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with completion of externship
+ American Association Medical Assistants (AAMA) Or
+ Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Or
+ National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP) Or
+ National Center for Competency Testing-Medical Asst (NCMA) And
+ Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Preferred qualifications:
+ Previous MA experience
+ Previous urgent care / ED experience
+ Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT)
+ Drug Screen Certification
