    Job Description Summary

    The Lead Coating Engineer will work in a highly skilled cross-functional team engaged in the advancement of aircraft coating systems. In this role, you will guide a multi-disciplinary team to achieve a set of development objectives.

    Job Description

    Role and Responsibilities

    + Lead development projects for the improvement and usage of materials, coatings, and processes undertaken to build, apply, or shape the materials

    + Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions

    + Create and manage project timelines

    + Create and execute test plans

    + Understand and apply technical requirements from specifications and engineering drawings that impact materials and processes and provide guidance to multidisciplinary teams

    + Evaluate, compare and obtain property data to guide material selection

    + Perform metallurgical and compositional evaluations

    + Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools

    + Document and communicate development results through technical reports and presentations

    + Identify Materials and Process technology gaps and propose solutions for component durability or future designs

    + Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science with a minimum of 3 years engineering experience or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years engineering experience

     

    NOTE: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.

    Desired Qualifications

    + B.S, M.S. or PhD degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science or Metallurgy from an accredited college or university

    + Technology Readiness Level (TRL) maturation plan development and execution experience

    + 6 years of engineering experience

    + Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team

    + Education or experience with materials or Jet engine systems
