    About the Summer Internship Program

    Our **10–12 week Summer Internship Program** is designed to help you **climb higher and build the foundation for your career journey** . Beyond your day-to-day project work, you’ll take part in signature experiences that make Iron Mountain’s program unlike any other:

     

    + **Executive Speaker Series** – Hear directly from senior leaders who share their career climbs, leadership philosophies, and the paths they forged to reach the top.

    + **Summit Skill Workshops** – Strengthen your early career toolkit with interactive sessions focused on communication, problem-solving, project management, and more — skills that will set you apart by the end of your internship.

    + **Campfire Chats with Former Interns** – Gather with former Mountaineer interns who turned their experiences into full-time careers, and learn how they navigated the journey.

    + **Service Days on the Mountain** – Give back to the community and leave a mark beyond the workplace, all while bonding with your cohort.

    + **Guided Mentorship & Trail Networking** – Connect with mentors, managers, and peers who will guide and support you along the way.

    + **Capstone Climb Presentation** – Conclude your summer by showcasing your impact in front of business leaders — celebrating how far you’ve come and the heights you’ve reached.

     

    As **Software Engineering Intern** and contribute to the core digital transformation initiatives that safeguard customer data and assets. You will work within an **Agile engineering team** to deliver state-of-the-art software solutions, helping to build sustainable new revenue streams. This is a high-impact opportunity for a talented student to immediately apply their programming skills across the full development lifecycle in a global technology environment.

    Responsibilities:

    + **Contribute to the design, development, and deployment** of new features for core digital transformation and software projects.

    + **Write well-designed, testable code** and develop robust unit tests with a **test-driven mindset** to ensure high quality and performance.

    + **Participate in technical design discussions** , providing input on implementation, considering trade-offs for business value, scalability, and delivery timelines.

    + **Debug, troubleshoot, and address performance issues** in existing applications to ensure system stability and optimize user experience.

    + **Collaborate cross-functionally** with Product Managers, Solution Architects, ML Engineers, and Data Scientists to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions.

    + **Assist in product feature development** and provide engineering insights when reviewing future product roadmap items with Product Management.

    Qualifications:

    + Currently enrolled in an accredited university and pursuing a **Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science** or a related technical field.

    + Must be a **Rising Senior** at the start of the internship.

    + Demonstrated **hands-on programming experience** in one or more relevant languages (e.g., **Python, Java, C++, C#, SQL,** etc.).

    + Possesses **strong analytical and problem-solving skills** with a working knowledge of best coding practices.

    + Familiarity with **Agile development methodologies** and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

    + Must be located in the continental United States for the duration of the program and authorized to work in the US without restriction.

     

    Reasonably expected salary range: $52,200.00 - $65,300.00
