• Facility Janitor

    Emperical Foods (Garden City, KS)


    Overview

     

    Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the plant facility. Utilize sanitizing chemicals and cleaning equipment as needed.

    Responsibilities

    + Clean, sanitize, sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum all areas assigned: bathrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairwells, welfare areas, and production offices.

    + Responsible for maintaining clean and safe work areas, free from slippery surfaces and floors littered with debris.

    + Clean and sanitize walls, windows, tables, floors, and like surfaces.

    + Empty trash and garbage containers. The employee must pick up cigarette butts, paper, and any debris that is found inside or outside the facility.

    + Visually observant of repairs or issues in the plant such as missing tiles, light bulb replacement, etc. and report to management.

    + Operate several types of motorized cleaning equipment. Will use, maintain, and store equipment properly.

    + Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

    + Perform all other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Skills and Abilities

     

    + Ability to read and understand cleaning labels.

    + Must be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions.

    + Ability to operate small power or hand tools.

    + Ability to operate machinery and equipment, such as ride-on scrubbers.

    + Basic computer skills are not required.

     

    Demonstrated Competencies

     

    + Work independently and complete assigned tasks.

    + Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.

    + Must have regular and punctual attendance.

    Physical Requirements

    + This position requires sitting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, reaching, bending, and lifting.

    + Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60lbs.

    + Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.

     

    Experience: Previous janitorial experience is advantageous, but not required.Education: High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.Department: Operations
