    Summary:

    At Meta Reality Labs, we are developing the future of Wearables and Mixed Reality products. As a Display Calibration Engineer in our AR organization, you will develop and validate techniques for display optical tests and calibration, critical to delivering optimal visual quality across multiple upcoming display products. This role spans the entire cycle of prototype-to-production calibration algorithm development, including modeling and prototyping. As such, you will collaborate closely with the system, perception, test, software/firmware and calibration leads to validate, refine, and deploy these methodologies for production.

    Required Skills:

    AR Display Calibration Engineer Responsibilities:

    1. Develop and refine display calibration methodologies to achieve display requirements, evaluating and communicating algorithm workflow requirements to cross functional stakeholders

    2. Analyze simulation, and measurement-based data, to identify key display quality issues and develop optimal correction methods, evaluating tradeoffs

    3. Partner with hardware teams on modeling-based development

    4. Partner with prototyping teams on algorithm validation

    5. Troubleshoot hardware and software interactions to ensure robust and reliable calibration outcomes

    6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including optical, display, imaging, and metrology engineers, to improve the accuracy and reliability of the display calibration processes

    7. Develop novel methods to improve factory throughput

    Minimum Qualifications:

    8. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

    9. 6+ years of work experience with displays, optics or equivalent work experience

    10. Experience with display calibration methods and tools, deploying methods for high-volume products

    11. Experience in radiometry/photometry, physical optics and familiarity with conventional imaging systems

    12. Experience with Python, MATLAB, C++ or similar programming languages

    13. Experience with standard image quality metrics

    14. Experience communicating to technical and non-technical stakeholders

    15. Masters or PhD degree in optics, electrical engineering, computational imaging, a related field, or equivalent practical experience

    16. Experience with prototype builds and testing

    17. Experience working on novel display technologies

    Public Compensation:

    $147,000/year to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
