Under general direction, the Associate Program Manager will lead the strategic development and day-to-day operations of our clients’ thriving Makerspaces Workplace Experience Program. Makerspaces are custom lab spaces designed as an amenity for employees to create, tinker, hack, and build personal projects. The main focus of this role is to ensure the spaces are safe and engaging for users, and will act as the primary contact for the client. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who blends administrative skills with a strong interest in crafting. Success will be determined by effectively leading all aspects of the program, collaborating with individuals inside and outside the organization, and meeting all predetermined goals and service level agreements.

    What you’ll do

+ Develop an in-depth comprehension of our Makerspaces, covering their equipment and users, by examining process documentation, sharing subject matter expertise, and engaging with customers. Proactively identify and resolve gaps in program operations and documentation, focusing on providing comprehensive solutions.

+ Provide responsive and adaptive customer service to user inquiries, tailoring communication style to fit different chat channels and user needs.

+ Manage all aspects of budget requests and oversee audit system logistics, using internal tools to appropriately monitor and ensure fiscal responsibility.

+ Oversee Makerspace operations, including equipment inventory of 3D printers, laser cutting and engraving, sewing and textiles, soldering and electronic benches, crafting and hand tools. Manage user access and craft meeting agendas. This includes partnering with other teams to ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.

+ Serve as the primary client contact, building and maintaining strong relationships while partnering effectively with external stakeholders. Use critical thinking to proactively identify risks and opportunities, and confidently communicate with all stakeholders.

+ Lead data compilation for business reviews, using key metrics to provide actionable insights and drive program improvement.

+ Ensure Makerspace activities align with organizational goals to provide a cohesive and impactful experience for all participants.

+ Partner with Makerspace volunteers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. Gather and analyze feedback from users to continually improve program offerings.

+ Prepare and provide training and reference material to assist users. May train new volunteers on policies, procedures, and administration and governance tasks.

+ Responsible for overall performance and execution of the client’s workplace program. To that end, other duties not outlined in this job description may be assigned. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in ambiguity required; highly adaptable and flexible. Must be able to manage multiple projects at once, process a high volume of information, and adapt seamlessly in an agile space.

    What You’ll Need:

+ Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

+ Comfortable communicating critical business expectations via email and chat channels, in addition to in-person meetings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to internal and external stakeholders. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. Comfortable meeting and interacting with new people. Ability to assess circumstances, empathize, and offer help.

+ Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, and using this information to create charts and report on findings.

+ Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. A passion for making, a knack for creative problem-solving, and a proactive attitude.

+ Advanced proficiency in Google Suite preferred. Able to quickly learn and adapt to systems within CBRE and the client company. Able to create graphs, presentations, and other reporting visuals in Google Workspace as necessary. Preference towards an understanding of Makerspace equipment (such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, woodworking tools, and electronic prototyping equipment). A strong commitment to safety.
