The Automation Technical Sales Manager takes a lead position in creating sales and product strategies related to automation products and services. This position bridges the gap between engineering and sales, leveraging deep technical knowledge to sell complex automation systems. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their needs, propose tailored solutions, and ensure successful implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Identify and engage prospective clients in primarily in North America (occasionally it can involve customers outside of North America).
+ Understand customer requirements and propose suitable automation solutions. Our current automation solutions are mainly engineered machine tending solutions capable of multiple operations. These systems are sold to a variety of customers across a variety of different industries.
+ Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations.
+ Develop detailed proposals, pricing quotations, and technical documentation.
+ Collaborate with engineering teams to design custom solutions.
+ Attend trade shows, conferences, and prepare marketing materials in collaboration with our Marketing team.
+ Provide post-sales support including troubleshooting and training.
+ Work within in our CRM system including maintaining status of leads, quotes and providing forecasts of expected orders.
+ Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
+ 10+ years experience in automation industry, with at least three years in a technical sales capacity.
+ Strong understanding of industrial automation systems (robotics, PLCs, sensors, etc.).
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
+ Ability to travel frequently for client visits and industry events.
Preferred Skills:
+ Experience with automotive, aerospace, or high-tech manufacturing sectors.
+ Familiarity with lean manufacturing and process optimization.
+ Proficiency in CAD or simulation software is a plus.
