This job is within the American Airlines Credit Union. The role is responsible for collecting on delinquencies, primarily related to mortgages, while at the same time reinforcing American Airlines Credit Union’s mission of member advocacy.
What you'll do
+ Perform collections on mortgage loans, consumer loas, credit cards, negative shares, and controlling losses to AACU
+ Refer loans for charge-offs for management review
+ Update address information
+ Perform skip tracing and payment transfers
+ Send appropriate collection correspondence
+ Follow up on payment arrangements and broken promises to pay
+ Prepare and gather documentation for Workout Loans and Modifications
+ Create and maintain detailed collection documentation of all accounts worked
+ Review all credit and loan documents as well as membership cards
+ Review credit bureau reports
+ Assist on ACD calls when requested
+ Perform other duties, as assigned
+ The selected individual will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
+ High school diploma or GED equivalency
+ Minimum three years of experience in mortgage collection
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
+ Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent relevant field or industry experience
+ Experience in a financial/banking institution with a working knowledge of the various products
+ Knowledge of FDCPA and the Texas Act
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
+ Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
+ Possess well-developed decision-making skills and the ability to exercise good judgment, with a strong emphasis on reaching decisions that are in the best interest of AACU
+ Ability to interact professionally and effectively orally and in writing with all organziational levels, as well as with members and others outside of the organization
+ Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
+ Skilled in effective time management skills and proficiently handling multiple projects/tasks
+ Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
+ Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
+ Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
