Essential Job Duties:
Working under the general supervision of the Clinical Research Core Manager, this position supports the operation of the Clinical Research Core ( CRC ) and any clinical studies that utilize the services that the core provides. This will include support the following duties:
Job Duties:
+ Start IVs and blood draws from IVs following clinical best practices for bloodborne pathogens and SOPs
+ Collect and process human specimens including but not limited to blood, urine, stool, and saliva. This includes but is not limited to centrifuging, aliquoting, and sample storage
+ Compile data from study equipment and record lab results in participant files
+ Maintain study records according to study protocols and HIPPA regulations
+ Handle participant recruitment, eligibility screenings, and informed consent
+ Perform anthropometric and clinical measurements including but not limited to blood pressure, height, and weight
+ May assist in coordinating the daily operations of the Clinical Research Core
+ May train and/or supervise other technicians in laboratory processing techniques
+ May assist with metabolic kitchen maintenance in conjunction with Kitchen Manager
Other Work/Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
+ Experience with and comfortable in placing, assessing, and managing IVs for purposes of repeated blood collection. If no IVs experience, we are willing train individuals with excellent phlebotomy skills
+ Ability to work independently, possibly as the only licensed or certified staff onsite during study visits (additional study staff and management available to support non-medical activities)
+ CITI certification or willingness to complete training upon hire
+ Currently licensed or certified in the State of North Carolina as a, Advanced EMT , LPN , or RN
+ Early mornings, evenings, and weekends shifts may be required

+ Coursework in Nursing or related field preferred
+ Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are strongly encouraged to apply

+ Currently licensed or certified in the State of North Carolina as an Advanced EMT , LPN , or RN
