DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
In the Compensation Division of the Human Resources Department, performs various routine professional duties involved in performing compensation and classification projects, such as researching compensation trends and practices, participating in salary surveys and job audits, analyzing costs associated with salary increases and analyzing salary actions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Reviews and processes compensation for various personnel actions
•Participates in salary surveys
•Conducts job analyses, reviews data gathered and performs site visits.
•Researches and applies market data collected. Makes appropriate recommendations.
•Conducts job classification audits as requested.
•Participates in basic compensation-related special projects.
•May prepare management reports.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is physically comfortable. The individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science, Liberal Arts or a related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
One year related to human resources is required.
Pertinent experience at the professional level may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
