The Boeing Company** is seeking a **2nd shift** motivated collaborative **associate or experienced** **Composites M&P (Materials and Processes** **​** **) Engineer** to join our Composite Materials Fabrication Site in **Mesa, Arizona.

What you’ll do

+ Apply chemistry, physics, and material science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods

+ Provide technical evaluation and material and process support to composite part fabrication

+ Perform root-cause investigations and implement corrective & preventive actions for material and process issues

+ Create and execute test plans, write reports and input to specifications for materials, tools, and processes

+ Qualify and approve equipment, materials and processes

+ Guide material testing in the Materials & Processes Laboratory

+ Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement

+ Travel to suppliers as needed

+ Integrate new technologies and promote standardization across product lines

+ Manage test/audit programs, ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, and incorporate EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles into your work

+ This role is full-time 2nd shift and is expected to be 100% onsite

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

+ Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. (And a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience or a Master’s degree (Level 2) or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience or Master’s and 3+ years (Level 3)

+ Willingness to work 2nd shift.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

+ 1+ years working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques (Level 2 or 3 applies based on years of experience).

+ Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques.

+ Familiarity with materials such as epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives.

+ Experience with composite failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and failure analysis.

+ Experience in technical specifications, reports, and test plans

+ Comfortable reading engineering drawings and using Microsoft Office.

+ Experience in creating and delivering technical presentations and briefings

+ Ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 2: Bachelor’s + ~2 years’ related experience (or equivalent advanced degree/experience).

Level 3: Bachelor’s + ~5 years’ related experience (or equivalent advanced degree/experience).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range (level 2): $77,350 - $104,650

Summary Pay Range (level 3): $95,200 - $128,800
