We are the "blue team" for Amazon's Corporate Services Security organization. Our team designs and builds secure monitoring solutions, develops security automation, and solves security challenges at a massive scale. We are responsible for securing the infrastructure and software built and operated by service teams in Amazon Finance, Legal, People Experience & Technology, and Communications & Corporate Responsibility
Key job responsibilities
• Review threat intelligence and offensive security data to develop technologies for automated vulnerability detection and prevention
• Perform risk analysis and drive technical mitigations
• Participate in security operations support to include incident response and triage
• Develop, interpret, and implement security policies and procedures
• Evaluate and recommend new security tooling and technologies
• Support the learning and development our internal customers
A day in the life
If you enjoy inventing, developing, and automating security tooling, this position will provide you with a unique opportunity to secure thousands of EC2 instances, hundreds of RDS databases, petabytes of data, and millions of lines of code. You will help defend critical Amazon data and join a team that secures the applications and infrastructure used by hundreds of millions of customers every day.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or other related discipline
- An in-depth understanding of security exploit concepts and how to detect and prevent cybersecurity attacks and anomalies
- Advanced knowledge in network security design, TCP/IP protocols and topology, and network security architecture
- Experience with incident triage and response
- Working knowledge of at-least one of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Java, or C/C+- Versed in security information and event management (SIEM), log management tools, and alert writing
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive experience in a security-focused role
- Experience in a security operations team or conducting threat hunting operations
- Experience in generating automated metrics to measure IT security effectiveness and consistency
- An effective teacher and instructor, with experience developing and delivering training to security, technical, and business professionals
- Excellent written communication skills with a focus on translating technically complex security issues into simple, easy to understand concepts for leadership consumption
- Experience architecting, securing, and operating Amazon Web Services
- Experience in using standard Security Assessment and Penetration Testing tools such as BurpSuite, Metasploit, IDA Pro, Caldera
- Knowledgeable of forensic methodologies and best practices to investigate intrusions, preserve evidence, and coordinate a unified security response

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
