Network Traffic Analyst
The Contractor shall be capable of performing the tasks &/or possess the skill sets listed below:
+ Candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the administration, configuration, management, testing/troubleshooting, and implementation of, but not limited to, Gigamon GigaVUE appliances, Cisco Secure Network Analytics (formerly "Stealthwatch"), and other Department-wide security tools.
+ Role requires providing customer support interaction such as, but not limited to, collaborative troubleshooting with single &/or multiple customers or vendors simultaneously in order to resolve issues ranging from 'nominal' (I.E.: "do you see the traffic?") to "Sev 0" (I.E.: Entire OPDIV production data centers being down).
+ SME Support Engineers may also participate in on-call support rotations for multi-OS environments.
+ Candidate will hold a CIS/InfoSec/IT related bachelor’s degree with ~5+ years of Information Security work experience or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, & experience.
+ Experience with responding to security incidents and taking appropriate action to contain and remediate the issue.
+ Ability to stay up to date with the latest network security threats and vulnerabilities.
+ Maintain detailed documentation for system designs, configurations, processes, and service records.
+ Lead and mentor junior team members in best practices and technical challenges.
+ Organized, detail-oriented, and excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Candidate will have >5+ years’ experience with Enterprise-wide either Network Visibility and/or Network Security tools demonstrating experience with implementing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting network security infrastructure such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), packet capture/"sniffers", cybersecurity monitoring tools, and virtual private networks (VPNs).
+ Candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in administration, deployment, management, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, including but not limited to LAN, MAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
+ Knowledge and proficiency demonstrating the advanced skill set(s) necessary to detect threats such as Command-and-Control (C&C) attacks, ransomware, Distributed-Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks, illicit cryptomining, unknown malware, and insider threats.
+ Experience with collaborating with other IT staff and stakeholders to ensure the overall security of the network.
+ Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
+ Analyzes development and implementation requirements and makes appropriate modifications to existing systems and prepares specifications based on customer requests.
+ Possess knowledge &/or familiarity with security hardening framework standards and regulations from Center for Internet Security (CIS) Control 4, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53 Revision 5, and Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
