Law Library Director/Professor of Law
The University of Maine School of Law, in the coastal community of Portland, Maine (https://realestate.usnews.com/places/rankings/best-places-to-live) , invites applications for the position of Law Library Director/Professor of Law to begin in the Fall of 2026. The Law Library Director is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of the law library, including determining and administering library policies and programs to accomplish the law library’s mission of educating students, supporting faculty in their teaching, scholarship, and service, library budgeting, and providing assistance to the legal profession and the wider community. The position of Law Library Director is a full-time faculty position within the School of Law with rights comparable to tenured and tenure-track faculty.
Applicants must possess a master’s degree in library/information science, a J.D. degree, administrative experience in an academic law library, experience with student and faculty services, and a record or promise of successful teaching and student mentoring.
