Description

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to help design, implement, and maintain our core IT systems and infrastructure. The Systems Engineer will play a key role in the planning, deployment, administration, and optimization of servers, virtualization platforms, cloud services, and enterprise systems. This individual will work closely with cross-functional IT teams to ensure our systems are secure, stable, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities

+ Design, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux server environments

+ Administer virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) and cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

+ Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements

+ Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and identity/access management systems

+ Support system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning

+ Automate routine tasks and deployments using scripting tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python)

+ Collaborate with security teams to implement system hardening, patch management, and compliance controls

+ Maintain documentation for systems architecture, configurations, and procedures

+ Provide Tier 3 escalation support for helpdesk and infrastructure issues

+ Participate in on-call rotation for critical systems support (if applicable)

Requirements

Required:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

+ 4+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or similar roles

+ Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems

+ Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V

+ Proficiency in cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)

+ Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and storage technologies (SAN, NAS)

+ Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

Preferred:

+ Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, VMware VCP, CompTIA Server+, or RHCE

+ Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible)

+ Exposure to container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)

+ Knowledge of networking fundamentals and security best practices

+ Experience working in ITIL or enterprise support environments
