Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as General Production Workers. In this role, you will operate industrial sewing machines to manufacture medical device parts. Comprehensive training will be provided, starting with a week-long class on industrial sewing machines followed by hands-on mentoring on the production floor.
Responsibilities
+ Operate industrial sewing machines to manufacture medical device parts.
+ Set up sewing machines with the correct thread.
+ Increase production count to the expected output level for each product within 13 weeks.
+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
+ Sit for extended periods to operate sewing machines.
+ Request assistance or call maintenance if issues arise with the sewing machine.
+ Ensure products meet quality standards.

Work Environment
The work environment is within a contract manufacturing medical device company that has experienced 30% growth over the last year and now employs 800 people at the St. Charles location. The production floor consists of 75% industrial sewing machines. It is a clean GMP environment where hair nets and beard nets (if applicable) are required. The environment is not climate controlled and can get hot during summer months. Each sewing machine has a fan, and additional fans are placed throughout the production area. The workforce is diverse, with over 5-6 languages spoken. Candidates who are not fluent in English may face challenges in sewing class but can succeed with translation technology. The schedule includes two shifts: 1st shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm (with optional extended hours and Saturday work) and 2nd shift from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm (with optional extended hours and Saturday work).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Charles, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
