    Job Title: Finish Carpenter

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Finish Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in finish carpentry within commercial environments such as office buildings, retail spaces, healthcare facilities, and hospitality projects. This role requires precision, craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

    Responsibilities

    + Install interior trim, moldings, baseboards, crown molding, and wainscoting.

    + Fit and hang doors, windows, cabinetry, and hardware with precision.

    + Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.

    + Measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately using hand and power tools.

    + Ensure all finishes meet quality standards and client expectations.

    + Collaborate with other trades and site supervisors to maintain project timelines.

    + Maintain a clean and organized work area.

    + Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of experience in cabinetry install, door install, window install, general framing, and trim work for commercial installations.

    + Ability to read prints.

    + Reliable transportation and ability to drive an hour outside of Grand Rapids, MI.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Vocational School (Carpentry certifications) is preferred.

    + Experience in construction, carpentry, framing, finish work, drywall, and the use of hand and power tools.

    + Familiarity with blueprint reading, commercial construction, rough carpentry, new construction, and metal stud framing.

    Work Environment

     

    Projects include community buildings, offices, hotels/multi-family units, medical facilities, parks, parking lots, retail spaces, restaurants, and warehouse/industrial sites. The work involves 90% collaboration in groups and 10% independent work.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
