Job Title: Production Lead
Job Description
The Production Lead supports day-to-day operations in the Catalytic Converter (CAT) processing area. This role ensures a safe and clean production floor, upholds processing, inventory, and labeling standards, coordinates with Maintenance on equipment readiness, and manages essential office tasks such as reports, shipment paperwork, staffing plans, and onboarding. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is responsible, disciplined, curious, and serious about deliverables, with strong, clear verbal communication.
Responsibilities
+ Enforce safety protocols and housekeeping standards at all times.
+ Ensure production protocols are followed and quality targets are met.
+ Maintain on-floor inventory accuracy and labeling compliance.
+ Communicate effectively with Supervisors and Team Leads to meet shift production expectations; adjust priorities as needed.
+ Coordinate with Maintenance for machinery operation and preventive maintenance.
+ Monitor levels of PPE and production consumables and trigger replenishment.
+ Maintain electronic inventory for internal and external customers with accurate and timely data entry.
+ Prepare relevant production reports and dashboards for the floor and management.
+ Prepare and create outbound shipments of catalytic converters with correct documentation.
+ Prepare the agenda for the 2nd shift; plan and adjust staff placement to hit goals.
+ Support new hire onboarding and safety training; reinforce standards.
+ Keep Manager and Office Staff up to date on production status, issues, and needs.
Essential Skills
+ Manufacturing/Production experience in an industrial environment (CAT processing or metals/chemicals preferred).
+ Strong verbal communication; able to give clear direction and escalate issues appropriately.
+ Working knowledge of inventory control including data entry, labeling standards, and transaction accuracy.
+ Organizational skills to manage reports, staffing plans, and shift handoffs.
+ Problem-solving skills and follow through to maintain flow and resolve production roadblocks.

Work Environment
The work environment is industrial, involving the handling of car parts and scraps purchased for resale to refurbishers or for scrap sales. The role requires standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks, with lifting up to approximately 15 lbs. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as uniforms, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, earplugs, and steel-toed boots is provided and required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coventry, Rhode Island.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
