Job Title: Medical Assistant (OBGYN)Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Medical Assistant specializing in OBGYN. You will play a pivotal role in providing excellent patient care by greeting patients warmly and ensuring their records are accurate and up-to-date. Your expertise will help maintain a well-organized clinical environment and smooth patient flow.
Responsibilities
+ Greet patients courteously and bring them back for appointments.
+ Accurately document information in patients' electronic health records.
+ Stock examination rooms and triage areas with necessary medical supplies and reorder as needed.
+ Schedule and confirm patient appointments, reschedule as needed, and coordinate residents’ clinic schedules.
+ Prepare charts and documentation for the next day, including new patient charts and verifying referrals and authorizations.
+ Prepare charge tickets and manage patient files efficiently.
+ Perform other duties as assigned to support the healthcare team.
Essential Skills
+ Certified or Registered Medical Assistant qualification.
+ At least 1 year of experience in women's health.
+ Proficiency with EMR systems, particularly EPIC.
+ Strong computer skills.
+ Ability to handle patient intake with professionalism and care.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ CPR certification is preferred.
+ Friendly and outgoing personality.
+ Experience in reproductive medicine, fertility, and OBGYN is advantageous.
Work Environment
The role operates in a dynamic healthcare setting from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional travel required (less than once a week). You will wear conservative solid color scrubs and be part of a team that handles a patient flow of 16 in the morning and 15 in the afternoon. You will work alongside 3-5 providers and another Medical Assistant to ensure efficient clinic operations. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
