Mechanical Drafter - Working on New High Speed Theme Park Attraction (6-month contract)What You’ll Do
+ Make drawings for parts, assemblies, and full systems
+ Use SolidWorks (3D modeling software) to build and revise models and drawings.
+ Work from sketches or marked-up drawings from engineers or designers.
+ Add tolerances and notes so parts can be fabricated correctly.
+ Build bills of materials(BOMs) for assemblies.
+ Turn sketches and marked-up drawings into fabrication-ready designs.
+ Collaborate with engineers and designers on custom projects.
+ Occasionally assist with hands-on assembly in the shop.
What Experience You'll Bring
+ 5+ years of professional Mechanical Drafting/Design experience
+ SolidWorks expertise is a must.
+ Experience with large assemblies (2,000+ parts).
+ Understanding of structural steel, machined parts, and how they fit together.
+ Familiarity with GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum two-year degree in Computer Aided Drafting or related training.
+ SolidWorks certification is a plus (CSWE, CSWP, CSWA, CSWPA-DT, -WD, -SM are all relevant).
+ Knowledge of fabrication techniques and machine shop experience is beneficial.
+ AutoCAD experience is a plus.
Work Environment
The position is onsite, working in Orlando while reporting to and collaborating remotely with a team in Minneapolis. The role requires coordination with directors in both Florida and Minneapolis.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
