    Mechanical Engineer – New Graduate (2 Openings)

     

    Pay Rate: $25–$30/hr

     

    Contract-to-Hire: 6 months

     

    Position 1: Mechanical Design Engineer

     

    Focus: Sheet metal design and functional mechanical components

    Responsibilities:

    + Create and modify 3D models using SolidWorks

    + Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies

    + Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturability)

    + Generate detailed manufacturing drawings

    + Support fabrication and assembly processes

    Preferred Experience:

    + Sheet metal forming and fabrication

    + Machining and mechanical assembly

    + Exposure to manufacturing environments

     

    Position 2: Large-Scale Structures Design Engineer

     

    Focus: Physical design of large mechanical structures

    Responsibilities:

    + Design heavy structural systems using SolidWorks

    + Develop mechanical parts and assemblies for large-scale applications

    + Create detailed drawings for manufacturing and assembly

    + Collaborate with remote team members in South Dakota

    + Adapt to shifting project needs and cross-functional tasks

    Preferred Experience:

    + Structural design and analysis

    + Manufacturing and machining processes

    + Sheet metal and mechanical systems

    General Requirements (Both Roles):

    + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (South Dakota Mines preferred)

    + Strong proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling

    + Passion for creating manufacturing-ready drawings

    + Ability to work collaboratively with local and remote teams

    + Willingness to switch between projects based on team needs

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
