Job Title: Microbiology Lab Technician

Job Description

As a Microbiology Lab Technician, you will be an integral part of the microbiology nutritional testing laboratory. Your role involves analyzing and supporting all analytical testing needs on a daily basis. This position requires the ability to take direction and at times work autonomously to support the lab's operational needs. This is a full-time, onsite position with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.

Responsibilities

+ Provide support and flexibility related to the analysis of samples for the neighboring Nutritional testing labs.

+ Ensure timely delivery of microbiological analyses.

+ Document results accurately and review data comprehensively.

+ Investigate and resolve any technical discrepancies promptly.

+ Develop a strong knowledge of the analytical methods used to analyze samples.

+ Maintain a world-class lab safety environment in compliance with all safety rules.

Essential Skills

+ 1-3 years of experience.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology, or a related field.

+ Microbiology experience preferred.

+ Knowledge of microbiological plating techniques.

+ Basic lab skills including aseptic technique, pipetting, and serial dilutions.

+ Knowledge of laboratory quality systems, statistics, and document control.

+ Ability to manually calculate analytical test results.

+ Experience in analytical instrumentation, including PCR methods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in laboratory quality control and food science.

Work Environment

This role is based in a laboratory environment where you will be required to stand for long periods. The position includes holiday pay, as well as safe and sick time. They also provide a generous parental leave policy, with six months for primary caretakers and three months for secondary caretakers.

This is a Contract position based out of Plymouth, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
