Job Title: Electrical Engineer/Designer
Job Description
+ We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer or Designer to support a backlog of MEP projects.
+ You will be responsible for initiating new projects and addressing the backlog, with a focus on compliance with building codes.
+ This role requires expertise in engineering design calculations, evaluations, and project engineering specific to building codes.
Responsibilities
+ Perform engineering design calculations and evaluations specific to building codes.
+ Lead project engineering design and ensure compliance with NYS Building Codes and industry standards.
+ Design electrical systems from the pre-schematic phase, including energy modeling analysis, energy code compliance calculations, and life cycle cost analysis.
+ Conduct field site visits during the design phase to document existing conditions (mileage reimbursement provided for travel across upstate).
+ Provide construction administration support, including submittal reviews, RFI responses, periodic site visits for compliance, and punch listing.
+ Engage in projects within the K-12 and Federal work sectors.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD.
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or Design.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal guidance while having access to a seasoned professional for support.
+ Knowledge of spec writing, building codes, fire protection, drafting, HVAC, and OGS.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ EIT certification required; PE preferred.
+ Experience in mechanical engineering is valued.
Work Environment
+ The role offers the opportunity to lead the EE/ME department.
+ It is primarily remote with occasional travel to Upstate, NY, once every other month.
+ Travel expenses, including lodging, will be covered.
+ The company culture emphasizes independence and is not a hand-holding environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
