    Job Description

    We are seeking an outstanding Mechanical Engineer III to accelerate micrometeoroid and orbital debris (MMOD) risk analysis for spacecraft. The successful candidate will pre-process and mesh flight hardware mechanical designs using custom tools to simulate MMOD impact risk in-flight, and document results through comprehensive reports. This role requires familiarity with Python, mechanical CAD/drafting, and the ability to work independently while producing high-quality written documentation.

    Responsibilities

    + Pre-process and mesh flight hardware mechanical designs using custom tools.

    + Simulate MMOD impact risk in-flight.

    + Document analysis results and findings through detailed reports.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity and risk mitigation.

    + Utilize mechanical CAD/drafting tools to support project needs.

    Essential Skills

    + BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent.

    + Proficiency in MCAD software and 3D modeling, preferably Siemens NX.

    + Experience with geometry meshing, preferably Siemens FEMAP.

    + Comfort with Python programming.

    + Strong communication and writing skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + General knowledge of Micrometeoroid and Orbital Debris (MMOD).

    Work Environment

    This position is 100% onsite in Redmond, where you will be part of a team assisting in launching satellite constellations in space for underserved communities worldwide. The role offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment with a focus on innovation and excellence.

    This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, Washington.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $56.32/hr.
