Job Title: Drill Press Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Drill Press Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience operating drill press machinery and will be responsible for performing general labor duties, cleaning work areas, and utilizing hand and power tools. This role also involves sanding, grinding materials, and operating a drill press machine. Candidates with experience in hand and power tools, sanding, grinding, manual labor, and fabrication are a great fit for this position.

Responsibilities

+ Operate drill press machinery with precision and efficiency.

+ Perform general labor duties including cleaning work areas.

+ Utilize hand and power tools effectively.

+ Sand and grind materials as required.

+ Set up and troubleshoot machinery as needed.

+ Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of experience as a Drill Press Operator.

+ Proficiency in using a drill press machine.

+ Ability to read a tape measure accurately.

+ Competency in reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings.

+ Experience in machine operation and troubleshooting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 1+ year of experience sanding and grinding steel components.

+ 1+ year of experience within a steel shop environment.

+ 1+ year of experience as a fabricator.

Work Environment

This position is set in a large manufacturing environment that is non-climate controlled, with dock doors open and fans to control temperature during warmer seasons. The role operates on a 1st shift schedule from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime available starting at 6 AM. The pay rate is determined based on candidate needs and experience level.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Galion, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
