Job Description

Candidates will work in a production environment that produces food products. They will be involved in various tasks such as working on production lines, boxing and stacking products, loading and unloading products into machines, and palletizing and wrapping products. The role requires handling boxes weighing 15-20 pounds, either loading them onto the front of the machine or taking them off at the end and stacking them on a pallet. Additionally, candidates will open boxes with empty glass bottles, feeding them into the production machine for processing.

Responsibilities

+ Work on production lines, boxing and stacking products.

+ Load and unload products into machines.

+ Palletize and wrap products.

+ Handle boxes weighing 15-20 pounds, either loading them onto machines or stacking them on pallets.

+ Open boxes with empty glass bottles and feed them into production machines.

+ Maintain cleanliness of the work area throughout the day.

+ Follow all GMP practices.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to lift 15-20 pounds.

+ Capability to work on feet for shifts ranging from 10-12 hours.

+ Ability to work collaboratively on a production line.

+ Experience working on a high-speed production line.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in a warehouse, production, or general labor roles.

+ Familiarity with operating pallet jacks and palletizing.

Work Environment

Candidates will work in a food manufacturing environment that is cold in winter and warm in summer, with no air conditioning or heating. They will be exposed to strong food odors and work alongside machines that emit heat. Shifts are either 10 or 12 hours long, requiring candidates to stand for extended periods. Safety gear such as gloves, beard nets, hair nets, earplugs, and safety glasses are provided, but candidates must bring their own steel-toed boots. Temporary workers wear royal blue shirts, provided at the start. The environment is multicultural, with many workers speaking Spanish or Haitian Creole. A locker and lock are provided for personal belongings, and a break room with microwaves and vending machines is available for use.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hurlock, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
