Extrusion Machine Operator

Job Description

Join our team as a 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm) Extrusion Machine Operator for large extrusion shop in Santa Ana, CA. Pay will based on experience and typically between $30-$40 an hour (can go higher with the right experience). Overtime will be available as well.

You will be responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery used in the production of wire and cable products, ensuring that materials are processed according to specifications while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

+ Set up and operate wire extrusion machines according to job specifications.

+ Monitor machine operations to ensure consistent product quality and detect malfunctions.

+ Adjust machine settings such as temperature, speed, and pressure to optimize output.

+ Load raw materials into the extruder and ensure proper feeding throughout the process.

+ Inspect finished wire products for defects and verify dimensions using measuring tools.

+ Perform routine maintenance on extrusion equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.

+ Record production data and report any issues to the supervisor.

+ Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and ear protection.

+ Assist with packaging and labeling of finished wire products.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in extrusion, ideally with wire products.

+ Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform setup tasks.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.

+ Basic math skills and mechanical inclination.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Prior experience in machine operation or extrusion is preferred.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

+ Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

+ Willingness to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $79040.00/yr.
