3D Printing Specialist

Position Details:

+ $27.00 - $38.00 an hour/ DOE
Primary Function:
The 3D Printing Specialist is responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining all 3D printing technologies and related machinery according to blueprint specifications. This role also performs light assembly and kitting of printed parts to prepare them for use by engineering technicians.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
+ Utilizes 3D build and slicing software.
+ Analyzes engineering drawings, blueprints, models, and design data in order to develop and optimize 3D print jobs for the best results on each individual part within the build.
+ Inspects parts using precision measuring tools.
+ Uses precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges to accurately measure dimensions on parts being machined within print tolerance.
+ Recognizes and executes post-printing operations.
+ Cleans, media blasts, dyes, installs threaded inserts, simple machining as needed, etc.
+ Performs light assembly and kitting of printed parts prior to technician handoff.
+ Follows all safe work practices & safety rules.
+ Communicates recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality
+ Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required
+ 3+ years of relevant industry experience (e.g., 3D printing, machining, model shop) or equivalent education/training (e.g., degree program with significant hands-on 3D printing lab experience).
+ Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
+ Proficient in multiple competencies relevant to the role.
+ Understanding of GD&T symbols and their application.
+ Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
+ Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
+ Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group
+ Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Sigma Design Core Values
+ Pass a post-offer background verification
Work Environment
Standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
