The Liner Cell Machinist is responsible for the machining,

fit-up, assembly, and quality of a wide variety of parts for compressors and

associated components.

The Machinist manufactures very complex high dollar parts

on very large turning and milling centers. The selected candidate will be

required to hold very tight tolerances.

How You’ll Make an Impact

+ Plan,layout and perform all machine operations on both conventional and N/Cmachines to construct, alter, repair and finish a variety of parts.Maintain close tolerances.

+ Deburr,file, grind, chip, and fit parts made from cast iron, cast steel,malleable iron, nodular iron, sheet and bar steel. Remove burrs, fins andsharp edges using belt sanders, electric bench grinders, air operatorrotary files, and hand files.

+ Settools and make all adjustments required on tooling, both standard andpresent, changing presetting when necessary.

+ Operatematerial handling equipment, such as, but not restricted to, hand truck,fork or lift truck, crane, hoist, etc. for incidental delivery orreceiving or material to or from adjoining areas of the shop.

+ Diagnoseand remedy trouble. Ensure coolant logs are maintained. Keep machinesclean and lubricated, following periodic check list for preventivemaintenance and aid in machine repair. Work areas are to be kept neat,clean, safe and orderly.

+ Itis expected that employees will demonstrate their capability andwillingness to learn and operate all departmental equipment and machinesin assigned area.

What You Bring

+ Musthave a High School Diploma or GED that can be verified with eitherverifiable training and machining experience in a manufacturingenvironment; 1-3 years with lathe and turning is preferred.

+ Mustbe willing to work 3rd shift and be flexible enough to work 1st or 2rdshift on occasion as business requires.

+ Mustdemonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Musthave a general knowledge and understanding of machining and CNCprogramming methods.

+ Familiaritywith Microsoft Office Suite, with basic to intermediate computer skills,preferred.

+ Mustdisplays an attitude conducive to progress through positive change,continuous improvement and be an active contributor to the teamworkconcept.
