Lead Clinical Laboratory Assistant

Work location: Texas Health Frisco, 12400 Dallas Parkway NB, Frisco, TX 75033
Work hours: Full-Time Monday-Friday 3:30am-12:00pm

Here's What You Need
* High School Diploma or Equivalent REQUIRED
* Associate's degree preferred
o Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
* PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician upon hire preferred.
* Three years' experience in a medical setting REQUIRED
* Customer Service experience highly preferred
What You Will Do
* Follows laboratory procedures for handling unacceptable specimens
* Coordinates timed, routine, ASAP and STAT draws to prevent multiple sticks to the patient and to prevent excessive blood volume draws.
* Participates in orientation and training of new employees and students
* Attend continuing education seminars, webinars, reads articles or otherwise demonstrate continuing education related to profession equal to 6 hours.
* Participate in system, entity or departmental performance improvement activities, internal laboratory committees, professional organizations or hospital sponsored community service activities.
* Accountability demonstrated for information contained in emails
* Communicates appropriately to supervisors regarding issues
* Maintenance on centrifuges, refrigerators, etc performed as assigned
* Performs assigned daily/weekly/monthly maintenance
