Job Description

The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist will oversee the activities of the purchasing and inventory control department while managing the inventory of materials for the company.

Responsibilities

+ Purchase supplies, materials, and parts for the company.

+ Research, analyze, and forecast current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products, focusing on specified target market and demographics.

+ Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues related to delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.

+ Develop and maintain relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.

+ Review purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.

+ Negotiate contracts with wholesalers and suppliers.

+ Assess financial risks of purchases.

+ Develop and implement policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.

+ Perform other related duties as assigned.

+ Ensure compliance with GMPs and SQF standards.

Essential Skills

+ At least two years of experience in purchasing/procurement.

+ Knowledge of QuickBooks.

+ Experience with inventory management and performing cycle counts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in the packaging industry is preferred.

Work Environment

This position requires onsite work from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The role involves occasional walking on the production floor, necessitating the use of steel toe shoes.

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
