Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. Qualifications for Employment

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in English or related field; three years related teaching experience in a field that

demonstrates the ability to teach ESOL.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in TESOL, Linguistics, Bilingual Education preferred.

The preferred applicant will also have instructional experience preferably with an ethnically diverse urban population; ability to work with individuals in an enthusiastic and encouraging way; excellent oral and written communications skills.

Nature and Scope of Duties

The ESOL Adjunct Instructor reports to the Associate Coordinator of Instructional Services and performs the following duties:

• Conducts classes in academic areas, including but not limited to ESOL I & II, & III Reading Preparation and Academic Preparation;

• Prepares all necessary reports;

• Meets with Associate Coordinator of Instructional Services or Counselor when necessary;

• Performs related duties as described in Faculty Handbook/Alliance Agreement.

The Adjunct Instructor’s hourly rate is $44.00.
