Job Description
We are seeking a Facilities Engineer II at our El Segundo, CA facility.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
+ Serves as the System Matter Expert (SME) for utility systems and equipment
+ Support the trouble shooting and resolving of moderately complex problems through ingenuity and an innovative mindset
+ Supports the design, planning, and execution of facilities/equipment/utility system projects including conceptual design, detailed design, construction, and commissioning
+ Defines project scopes, prepares requests for proposals, prepares cost estimates and business cases for justification of capital projects
+ Knowledge of UBC, UFC, NEC codes is required
+ Must have a working understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices, and standards along with a full working knowledge of industry practices.
+ Acts as a project manager for small projects in accordance with capital project governance
+ Works under the guidance of the manager and senior engineering staff
+ Works fluently in Microsoft Office applications
+ Supports F&E management through development of metrics, presentations, etc.
+ Facilitates the management of contractors performing equipment, utility system, and facility work during project execution
+ Partners with EHS to provide a safe work environment during project execution. Develops LOTO plans for equipment and system outages
+ Partners with EHS to achieve Kite energy and sustainability initiatives
+ Ensures equipment and utility systems operate in a safe manner and comply with all applicable laws and codes
+ Reviews and approves project drawings, specifications, submittals, and turnover packages
+ Writes and/or provides technical review of documentation including standard operating procedures, commissioning and validation protocols, user requirement specifications, functional design specifications, and facility and engineering drawings
+ Demonstrates a firm understanding of GxP operations
+ Serves as an SME and addresses audit requests during regulatory inspections
+ Assembles documentation required for equipment and system inductions into the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS)
+ Supports and develop preventive maintenance and calibration plans and assembles the documentation required to input these plans into the EAMS
+ Identifies spare parts requirements for equipment and systems and sources proposals to facilitate procurement
+ Partners with the Reliability team to monitor and track equipment and utility system performance and develop predictive maintenance strategies
+ Organizes and effectively leads meetings, assembles meeting agendas, and distributes meeting minutes and action items
+ Ensures GMP equipment and systems operate in accordance with Kite/Gilead and Regulatory standards
+ Represents site engineering across the Kite network
+ Provides accurate budget estimates for OPEX and CAPEX expenses to respective budget holder(s)
+ Owns and/or supports deviations, CAPAs and change controls, performs investigations, root cause analysis, implements corrective actions, manages quality record workflows in the document control system
+ Performs risk assessments, system impact assessments, and FMEAs
Basic Qualifications:
+ Master’s and 2+ years of relevant experience OR
+ Bachelor’s and 4+ years of relevant experience OR
+ Associate and 5+ years of relevant experience OR
+ High School Diploma/GED and 6+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Excellent communication skills
+ Advanced project management skills
+ Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to a range of moderately complex problems
+ Knowledge and experience of using and designing business systems to manage projects
The salary range for this position is: $99,705.00 - $129,030.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
