Job Duties and Responsibilities

EchoStar is seeking a skilled and visionary Engineering Manager to lead our AI Engineering team. This role requires strong technical leadership, cloud-native engineering expertise, and a focus on operational excellence. You will be responsible for enabling the scalable deployment of AI/GenAI applications in production environments by driving engineering standards, DevOps/MLOps practices, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead and mentor an Agile team of software engineers, MLOps, and cloud specialists delivering AI, GenAI, and agentic solutions
+ Champion engineering excellence with secure, reliable, and scalable cloud-native architectures
+ Establish CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing tailored to AI/ML workflows
+ Partner with data science, product, and platform teams to enable rapid, compliant, and production-grade AI deployments
+ Drive the technical roadmap, architectural decisions, and incident resolution while fostering a DevOps/MLOps culture of continuous improvement
+ Stay current with GenAI trends and innovations to enhance system performance, reliability, and team productivity
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science or related degree
+ 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, with a strong background in cloud-native development and operations
Skills and Qualifications:
+ Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS preferred, or Azure, or GCP) and managing containerized systems (Kubernetes, Docker)
+ Deep expertise in the AI/ML lifecycle and MLOps practices, including deployment, monitoring, and scaling in regulated or mission-critical environments
+ Experience with GenAI technologies—LLMs, vector search, inference optimization—and related tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI, SageMaker)
+ Strong coding proficiency in Python, Java, or Go, with DevSecOps and infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform, Pulumi)
+ Experience with Databricks is preferred
+ Proven ability to lead Agile teams, driving technical delivery and cross-functional collaboration
+ Excellent communication skills with a track record of translating technical solutions into business impact

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $110,100.00/Year - $157,300.00/Year
