Job Overview
The Georgetown University School of Nursing is looking to hire a Research Associate (RA) to work with Dr. Christina Marea’s research lab. The incumbent will work closely with Dr. Marea and the research team to assist in various day-to-day operations on the Postpartum Study, IRB applications and updates, data analysis and manuscript writing.
Duties include but are not limited to:
+ Assist with research study tasks, including subject recruitment, participant scheduling, preparation of study materials, participant enrollment, data collection and data entry .
+ Attend staff and study team meetings.
+ Communicate clearly and routinely with Research team members.
+ Assist with building/maintaining relationships with community partners.
+ Assist with research and manuscript preparation for publication and dissemination of results.
+ Assist with maintenance of social media and study website.
+ Assist with other research study tasks as needed.
Work Interactions
The RA reports to PI Dr. Marea and will work closely with Research Coordinator Heather Bradford who can provide guidance and support when the PI is unavailable. This position will primarily support the Postpartum Study to ensure timely enrollment and retention of study participants in the online survey. This will involve regular monitoring of RedCap, use of a Google Voice phone account to communicate with participants and referring any questions or concerns to the PI. The RA will revise the existing IRB application to update the planned qualitative study, including responding to questions from IRB coordinators. The RA will attend weekly team meetings with the PI. The RA will use Google Drive to contribute to manuscripts in progress.
Requirements and Qualifications
+ Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, including at least one year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and experience.
+ Computer fluency with Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, Zotero, and statistical software (SPSS or Stata preferred).
+ Excellent verbal and written communication
+ Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work well in a team.
+ Attention to detail.
+ Must be a highly motivated, self-starter, and able to manage time independently on a remote team.
