Description
Network Engineer - Level II Excentium, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran owned small business (SDVOSB) that provides Cyber Security Engineering, Information Assurance (IA), management, Certification and Accreditation (C&A), and other IT services to government and commercial organizations.
We have an opportunity for a Network Engineer - Level II supporting one of our government customers at Brook Army Medical Center San Antonio Tx.
MINIMUM CLEARANCE LEVEL : Tier 2 (T2) or Secret CITIZENSHIP: US Citizenship LOCATION: Brook Army Medical Center San Antonio Tx.
Position Description: Design, test, upgrade and integrate new or existing information networks such as local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks in accordance to the organization’s business requirements. Document all aspects of the engineering process as it relates to build and configuration, testing, and deployment of networks. Coordinate changes such as implementation of new networks, upgrades or version increments to existing networks with network administrators and stakeholders. Plans, coordinates, and implement security measures to safeguard new and existing networks. Performs network modeling, analysis, and planning. Coordinates with architecture, evaluates new and emerging network technologies, and make recommendations for selection of these products. Assists network administrators with complex troubleshooting issues and if needed coordinates vendor engagements to assist in troubleshooting efforts. May provide day-to-day operational or administrative duties for deployed networks in lab or production environments. Applies fundamental engineering concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments. Ability to work with other senior technical and user staff to complete projects.
Functional Responsibility:
+ Network Design and Implementation:
+ Developing and deploying network plans to meet organizational requirements for performance, security, and compliance.
+ Network Configuration and Management:
+ Configuring and managing network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
+ Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
+ Investigating and resolving network issues, including root cause analysis.
+ Network Security:
+ Implementing and maintaining network security measures, including firewalls, security protocols, and access control.
+ Documentation:
+ Preparing technical documentation, including network diagrams, schematics, and user training materials.
+ Collaboration:
+ Working with other IT staff and stakeholders to ensure network functionality and security.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in similar roles
+ Bachelor’s degree and/or Equivalent work experience
+ Defense Health Agency Experience a Plus
One of the following IAT Level II Certifications:
+ Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security
+ CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
+ Certified Network Defender (CND)
+ CompTIA Security+ CE
+ Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
+ Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
+ GIAC Security Essentials Certification CND
+ SSCP
And one of the following CE certifications:
+ CompTIA A+ CE Certification
+ CompTIA Security+ CE Certification
+ CompTIA Network+ CE Certification
