This _Software Engineer – Level 3 or 4_ role will be in either our **Morrisville, NC, Fairfax, VA or Linthicum, MD sites.**
**This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work** **.** This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
In this job, you will:
+ Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
+ Works individually or as part of a team.
+ Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
+ Resolves software problem reports.
+ Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
+ Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
+ Perform hands-on development and actively contribute to the code base including peer review of code.
_This position is contingent upon clearance verification and transfer to the NG sponsored program as well as continued ability to maintain required clearance level._
Basic Qualifications (must have/required to be considered):
_This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4, depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment._
+ Requires an **active** Top-Secret (TS)/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance [ **TS/SCI** ] **at time of application**
+ **Level 3** : (Principal level)
+ Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of software development experience
+ _An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed Bachelor’s_
+ Master’s degree with 3 years of software development experience
+ PhD with 1 year of software development experience
+ **Level 4** : (Senior Principal level)
+ Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of software development experience
+ _An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed Bachelor’s_
+ Master’s degree with 6 years of software development experience
+ PhD with 4 years of software development experience
+ Experienced C/C++/Python/Java programmer
+ Experience with DevSecOps environments in CI/CD pipelines
+ Experience working on Agile programs and methodology.
+ Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
+ Experience with Gitlab
+ Experience working on a Ground Segment program
+ Excellent leadership and interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
+ Able to work in a dynamic, in office environment.
Preferred Qualifications (not required, but nice to have):
+ STEM degree
+ Familiarity with RF Signal Data Processing
+ Simulation Development Experience
+ Payload Calibration Experience
+ Experience with design and development of national security space or commercial space, interfaces, and ground systems architecture and/or integration of multiple IPTs is strongly preferred.
+ Experience with Northrop Grumman processes and procedures.
+ Experience with automated testing
+ Excellent technical writing and team-building skills
+ Experience with Command and Control

Primary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $165,500.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $206,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
