    This is a 12-month position, set for 8 hours per day.

     

    This is a position within the OESPA Collective Bargaining Agreement. The successful candidate must meet the Civil Service qualifications for this position.

    Job Description:

    The Custodian/Buildings & Grounds Maintainer is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position involves performing routine custodial duties as well as maintenance tasks for school buildings and grounds.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and other school facilities.

    + Perform minor repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and fixtures.

    + Assist with snow removal, lawn care, and general upkeep of outdoor areas.

    + Set up and take down furniture, equipment, and supplies for school events and activities.

    + Monitor building security and safety, including locking/unlocking doors and responding to emergencies.

    + Operate custodial and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.

    + Report major repair needs or safety hazards to the supervisor.

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    + Prior custodial or maintenance experience desirable.

    + Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects.

    + Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies, tools, and safety practices.

    + Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
