Theatre Production Manager

+ Prepare budget with Director of Visual and Performing Arts
+ Work with all production related staff to coordinate a full slate of BCSD annual productions: Director of Visual and Performing Arts, Visual and Performing Arts Administrative Assistant, Technical Director, all production directors, costumers, props coordinator, set designers, painter, choreographers, House Manager, and other identified personnel as needed
+ Serve as Performing Arts liaison with each performance venue
+ Reserve rooms needed in buildings
+ Coordinate and facilitate all production meetings
+ Coordinate Auditions/callbacks schedule
+ Facilitate each director and team’s production needs
+ Order drops
+ Copy all materials needed
+ Coordinate rehearsal schedules between directors for each show and create final rehearsal calendar for students and families
+ Set up informational meeting for students with directors
+ Coordinate student help at performances:
+ Request Ushers, send usher confirmations
+ Coordinate Tech crew sign up as determined by Technical Director
+ Coordinate pre-production marketing:
+ T-shirts: Design T-shirt, rder forms, order T-shirts, keep track of inventory, distribute T-shirts
+ Posters: Coordinate design, order, distribute
+ Publicity: Send information to Brighton Pitts. Post & Democrat and Chronicle, community press release, District publications
+ Patron line forms: coordinate, collect patron lines to be included in the BHS musical program
+ Display case: Take photos of rehearsals, headshots, etc. for display case/boards, keep display case current with attractive advertising of upcoming show
+ Programs: Design, create, and make arrangements for programs to be printed
+ Arrange for Cialone Photography Studio to do photo shoots of cast
+ Arrange for drops to be picked up
+ Request A/C on in auditorium
+ Coordinate ticket sales: line up ticket sellers, teach ticket sellers how to use the ticket machine, complete profit/loss statements to be submitted to Director for Visual and Performing Arts
+ Performances: Be present to coordinate ticket seller, address needs of production staff, coordinate students, work with House Manager and security
+ Post-production:
+ Return all musical materials to company
+ Send drops back – By FED EX
+ Complete profit/loss statement
+ Coordinate clean up of costumes, props (all returned to storage)
+ Other assignments as identified by the Director for Visual and Performing Arts
Job Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Theater Design, Theater Design and Technical Production, Theatrical Design, Theatrical Production, or Design and Technical Theatre; OR,
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree, with a minor, a concentration, or at least twelve (12) semester college credits* in one of the fields mentioned in (A) above, plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in lighting and sound design in a venue such as a school facility or professional theater production; OR,
(C) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree in one of the fields mentioned in (A) above, plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as described in (B) above; OR,
(D) Four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in lighting and sound design in a venue such as a school facility or professional theater production; OR,
(E) Any equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), (C) and (D) above.
*Candidates qualifying under (B) above, must submit an official or student transcript with their application.
