Responsibilities You will serve as program lead for terminal defense research, development, and/or acquisition projects of significant and extensive technical complexity, programmatic risk, budget, and visibility. You will direct and lead cross departmental efforts supporting terminal defense to ensure deliverables and products meet emerging technology needs. You will establish and maintain effective relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, to include program sponsors, other government agencies, and industry organizations as required. You will evaluate and analyze information from diverse sources and classification levels related to operational and technical plan integration. You will utilize knowledge of the Navy development, acquisition and operational ecosystem to identify efficient transition strategies through interaction with all stakeholders. You will utilize experience in Fleet tactics and operations to identify appropriate technology insertion opportunities within existing Fleet engagement processes. You will effectively communicate emerging engagement systems capabilities and limitations. You will exhibit strong operational and technical leadership to successfully lead NSWCDD initiatives focused on terminal defense. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading technical teams or projects for the development, rapid prototyping, and integration of naval weapon systems onto surface combatants within working capital fund organizations. Education Additional Information This announcement uses the STRL-Direct Support direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. The selectee for this position serves as a Technical Project Manager (Terminal Defense Chief Architect) in the Integrated Engagement Systems Department of Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. NT-06 is equivalent to GS-14/15. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
