    The Honeywell Engineering Test Services group is a multi-disciplinary team of Software, Electrical and Test Engineers at the forefront of designing, developing and deploying Engine Control Systems, Automation, high-speed Digital Data Acquisition Systems (DDAS) and specialized Electrical Test Solutions critical to testing, evaluating performance and operation of aircraft engine systems and components.

     

    **As a Software Engineer II** within Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, you will be part of a team developing and implementing software solutions and tools that support Engine Test Automation, namely Digital Data Acquisition Systems (DDAS). Honeywell Digital Data Acquisition Systems (DDAS) are systems designed to collect, manage, and analyze data during aircraft engine testing and operation. These systems play a critical role in ensuring engine performance and safety by capturing a wide array of parameters and testing environments.

     

    In this role, you will collaborate with talented professionals and be exposed to a variety of technologies that will enrich your experience. You will have the chance to contribute to innovative software solutions that impact the performance, testing and safety of advanced aircraft systems.

     

    DDAS Systems are integral to modern aircraft engine testing environments, offering high-precision data necessary for developing advanced engine technologies and improving overall aircraft performance. Responsibilities include writing software to support the acquisition of engine sensors data for both Development and Production testing, maintain a variety of software tools as hardware and software upgrades occur, and support engine testing software on call to be responsive when systems fail in the field.

     

    + Design, develop, and maintain software solutions and tools that support engine test automation and data acquisition.

    + Diagnose and troubleshoot software/hardware issues

    + Develop new and support existing software solutions for aircraft engine testing.

    + Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following internal standards and best practices

    + Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation of software releases to ensure system reliability

    + Assist in the integration of instrumentation and hardware interfaces into software systems

    + Work closely with test engineers and internal customers to gather requirements and deliver functional software solutions

    + Work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues in lab environments, often involving interaction between software and hardware systems

    + A growth mindset and willingness to learn new tools, frameworks, or technologies

    YOU MUST HAVE

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics

    + 2+ years of experience in software development

    + Software Coding Experience in 2 or more languages, like Python, Java, C/C++ Familiarity with basic Linux/Unix command line tools

    + Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements

    + Passion for innovation and continuous learning

    + Knowledge of software configuration management tools, such as Git and/or Subversion

    + Knowledge of Linux OS

    + Experience with Dewesoft Hardware and Software a plus

    + Proven ability to work with minimal direction in a cross-functional team environment

    + A work ethic that places safety and data quality as the highest priorities

    + Willingness to respond quickly with quality solutions in support of our customers
