Empowering People's Independence (EPI), provides support for people with developmental disabilities, epilepsy, and brain injury through progressive, tailored care to improve their health, wellbeing, independence, and social inclusion.
Job Purpose
The primary function of this role is to oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned residential homes, manage a group of supervisors and ensure that program needs are being followed as per Office for People with Developmental Disabilities(OPWDD) and Department of Labor (DOL).
Essential Functions:
+ Supervise and provide support for site supervisors daily.
+ Maintain the health and wellbeing of the people supported by EPI.
+ Participate in and monitor the planning and implementation of services.
+ Report all policy violations to appropriate personnel.
+ Ensure the development and implementation of policies and procedures; monitor, through the auditing process, all aspects of the program to ensure compliance of regulations; and monitor reports of all incidents or any other unusual events.
+ Explore and develop opportunities to enhance and expand Empowering People’s Independence.
+ Ensure all employees are trained appropriately.
+ Serve as on-call management on a rotating basis; responsible for direct care as required.
+ Promote workplace safety.
Human Resources:
+ Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit and hire for all vacancies.
+ Ensure team is compliant in annual certifications.
Non-Essential Functions:
+ Performs other duties as assigned by Associate Director and/or designee within scope of practice.
+ Participate on various committees as able.
Compliance:
+ Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters, includes but not limited to board/vendors/donors’ names, investigations, finance, operations, and employee relations matters.
+ Must complete specific company required trainings as mandated by our governing agency, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), at time of hire and annually thereafter.
+ Must adhere to all departmental /company policies & procedures at all times & ensure compliance with direct report.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a related field and experience in the human service field or minimum High
School degree with 3+ years’ experience in human service or related field.
Supervisory Experience:
Min 2 years experience in supervisory role to include; performance management, coaching, and performance reviews.
Qualifications:
+ Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License-a vehicle is required for business travel.
+ Mature interpersonal/professional skills to effectively collaborate, resolve issues, maintain confidentiality, and use poise, tact, and diplomacy during difficult and/or stressful situations .
+ Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English.
+ Proven ability to work in a challenging environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, and customer requests, while meeting deadlines
+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs to include Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams ,

+ Must be able to lift, transfer and carry/move up to 50 lbs.
+ While performing the duties of this position, exposure to changing weather conditions will occur.

+ This position requires tasks that involve exposure to blood or body fluids that requires specific training for the
+ employees’ safety.
