BAE Systems Digital Architecture Team (DAT) is looking to hire a Principal Front-end Engineer to join our team. We are responsible for building a microservice cloud infrastructure and data collection software.
Our team built a highly scalable containerized gRPC microservices platform and micro-frontend web applications. We are looking for a talented Web Application Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building web applications. You will work closely with our cross-functional team to develop high-quality web applications.
This specific role is to join our Digital Architecture Team as a Principal Front-end Software Engineer. Typical responsibilities for this role include:
+ Design and develop front end applications software and systems for product and commercial software.
+ Be able to mentor junior engineers through regular design and code reviews, and provide guidance on best practices, coding standards, and software development principles.
+ Determine user needs and analyze system capabilities to resolve problems.
_Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this position requires US citizenship status._
Hybrid:
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform work onsite, some efforts may be (mostly) full time on-site. Work that can be done remotely will allow for a hybridworking environment.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of work experience or equivalent experience.
+ 3 years of experience with TypeScript.
+ Proficient in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
+ 3 years of experience with React.js.
+ 3 years of experience with React Context API and React hooks.
+ Experience with Next.js framework.
+ Understanding of server-side rendering mechanisms.
+ Understanding of asynchronous programming and Promises.
+ Knowledge of front-end build tools like Webpack and Babel.
+ Familiarity with NPM, Webpack 5, Tailwind CSS, Docker, Kubernetes cluster
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Experience with gRPC.
+ Proficient with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
+ Proficient with Wireframing tools.
+ Experience with Storybook-UI or similar.
+ Comfortable working in a startup company mode.
+ Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum development process.
+ Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies.
+ Experience with microservices and micro-frontends.
+ Experience with Ingress, Grafana, Prometheus.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
