    Job Description

    Insight Global is searching for an HVAC Mechanical Engineer to support vertical construction projects on a major U.S. military installation. This is a full-time, onsite role supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This role is focused on general construction project engineering services, specifically for commercial HVAC systems. The position encompasses a wide range of technical and oversight duties:

     

    Design & Construction Review: Evaluate major design, renovation, and alteration projects.

     

    Documentation & Compliance: Review RFIs, submittals, BCOES, and perform plan-in-hand reviews.

     

    Mechanical Systems Oversight: Inspect and test HVAC, piping, plumbing, and building control systems.

     

    Commissioning: Monitor and document commissioning of building systems.

     

    Reporting & Contracting: Prepare correspondence, reports, and A-E contract criteria.

     

    Change Orders & Claims: Review complex change orders and claims for justification and documentation.

     

    Meeting Participation: Attend mechanical and plumbing meetings, contribute to RFP/design discussions including LEED compliance.

     

    Warranty Support: Participate in warranty inspections and ensure contractual warranty maintenance.

    Skills and Requirements

    - Mechanical Engineering Degree

    - Minimum 5 years of experience in similar work with commercial HVAC systems. - Experience performing similar services for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on large vertical DoD facilities.

     

    - Degree in Mechanical Engineering required with a minimum of 3 years’ commissioning experience.

     

    - Knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing and building control systems

     

    - Experience with RMS.
