    Peckham Inc. - Youth Services Intern

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Peckham is seeking a motivated high school intern to support its Youth Services & Reentry Success Department. This intern will assist in delivering mentoring and supportive instruction to youth participants, helping them build life and career skills. The position includes hands-on experience with youth programming, general office support, and involvement in a national grant initiative focused on culinary and customer service career development. This position will be part-time during school hours or after school, depending on student schedule and program needs. Internship duration and hours can be adjusted in alignment with school-based learning requirements.

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Support mentoring activities and help facilitate positive engagement with youth participants.

    + Assist staff with preparing and reviewing materials for instructional sessions, including tutoring and class preparation.

    + Contribute to clerical duties such as filing, document organization, data entry, and other administrative tasks.

    + Work with staff on documentation and reporting related to a grant from the National Restaurant Education Academic Foundation, focused on building career pipelines in the culinary and customer service fields.

    + Participate in special community-based projects and events organized by the department.

    + Attend team meetings, trainings, and planning sessions as needed.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Promote Peckham’s vision, value, culture, and commitment to excellent customer services to all team members, staff, customers and stakeholders

    + Maintain a safe and clean work environment

    + Other duties as assigned

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position does not have any supervisor responsibilities

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    + Hi gh School senior with an interest in Human Services, E ducation, Social work, or a related career field.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    + Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

    + Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace).

    + Commitment to professionalism and confidentiality.
