    Reports to: Manager of Airside Operations

     

    Salary: $80,136 Entry

     

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Position Summary:

    The Airside Operations Supervisor guides a frontline team of AATC professionals responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall operational readiness of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Responsibilities include leading a team that is completing daily activities including, but are not limited to, ramp / compactor pad cleaning, curb pressure washing, pallet collection, dumpster sanitation, and exterior window washing. The Supervisor will also oversee the activities within the local warehouse area that will be the primary location for equipment storage, disposal units, and recycling activities. AATC airside operations function in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. The Supervisor implements strategies and procedures set by management, to maximize performance among the Airside Operations Team. The Supervisor also supports strategic initiatives of the department during start-up and assists in building up the organization. The Supervisor will provide the team with guidance, implement the strategic vision, and translate the manager’s goals into daily tasks while guiding employees to achieve these objectives. This team will also hold primary responsibility for executing the annual snow removal plan during periods of inclement winter weather.

     

    The Supervisor enables training, identifies exemplary employees, and fosters team performance and motivation. The Supervisor acts as the primary contact for employees, relaying issues and providing feedback to managers.

     

    Scheduled hours will be centered around shift work based on a 24-hour operation.

    Responsibilities:

    • Guide and supervise the Airside Operations Team through strong communication and coaching techniques. Includes training, motivation, performance appraisals, and adherence to company policy.

    • Fosters a culture of safety by actively promoting and implementing team-wide adherence to established safety practices and organizational policies. Gives hands-on internal leadership focused on daily tasks, team performance, and implementing plans.

    • Assume adequate coverage and leadership across the designated shift. Managing workflow, creating schedules, guiding employees, resolving immediate issues, and reporting to management.

    • Improving operational efficiencies and performance through analytics, processes, accountability, and communication with key stakeholders to drive results.

    • Supervise and coordinate ramp activities, including, but not limited to, cleaning, pad washing, curb cleaning, pallet collection, spine/dumpster cleaning, and exterior window washing, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

    • Represent AATC as required, including attendance at assigned meetings, airport functions, and industry events.

    • Assist with budget planning and management of the Airside Operations overall budget.

    • Address employee-related issues, providing guidance to improve performance and professional conduct to ensure reliable attendance.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record void of recent major moving violations.

    • Must be able to pass requirements for approval for an ATL badge with customs seal. This includes a 10-year background search by fingerprint analysis.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience with running a facility maintenance and/or janitorial organization in a leadership role is preferred.

    • Advance skills in MS Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, and can clearly present and articulate ideas. Experience with Infor EAM is a plus.

    • Must be available twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week to provide support during planned or emergency situations or events to include being physically on site if deemed necessary.

    • Previous supervisory experience with direct reports is preferred.

    • Prior mechanic/technician experience is preferred.

    • Preferred qualifications include secondary education in facility management, business administration, or a closely related discipline.

    • Proven ability to work independently as a self-started with minimal supervision.

    • Tactical experience in an operational environment, including scheduling, staffing, prioritization, and workflow management.

    • Commitment to maintaining a safety-driven culture.

    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects; excellent organizational, leadership, and delegation skills; and ability to work collaboratively.
